Vancouver (11-14-8) plays their last of four games in 6 nights on their six game road trip, when they face-off against Detroit (16-9-6) tonight.
Tonight marks the second and final meeting this season between the two teams. Detroit won their lone meeting earlier this season; Henrik Sedin appeared in his1,100th regular season game on that night.
Vancouver lost their 3rd game in a row of the road trip, their 6th straight on the road, against the Philadelphia Flyers last night, 2-0. The Canucks have now been shutout twice on their road trip, and was the 4rth time this season they failed to avoid being shutout.
Jacob Markstrom made 29 saves and Alex Edler appeared in his 600th career game, logging a game-high 25:51 TOI; and registering a game-high five blocked shots. Daniel Sedin and Alex Edler each had a game-high seven shots.
Vancouver was 0-3 on the power play and 4 for 4 on the penalty kill against the Flyers.
The last time the Canucks faced losing seven in a row away from home was when they lost 7 games – all in regulation – Jan. 31-March 6, 2014.
Vancouver could be without captain Henrik Sedin, who left early in the 2nd period of the loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday with a lower-body injury.
